Planter diagnosis & field service

In the shop before the season, or on your ground when it can't wait. 24/7 in season.

What growers call us about

Skips and doubles
Purdue's list of usual causes: wrong air pressure, leaks, worn brushes, or the wrong disc.
An uneven stand
Usually moisture variation in the seed zone, or poor seed-to-soil contact from worn openers and misadjusted closing wheels.
Depth that wanders
Worn parallel arms and gauge wheel arms let the row unit rock. Depth changes on every bump.
A monitor that doesn't add up
Half of diagnosis is finding a setting that was never right.
Wiring and hydraulics
Software or mechanical, we run it down to the root.

What a pre-season check covers

  • Meters on the test stand
  • Disc openers, seed tubes and guards
  • Gauge wheels, arms and parallel arms
  • Closing wheels and row cleaners
  • Chains, drive and hydraulics
  • Wiring, sensors and the monitor

Two ways to do it

Pre-season health check

Bring it to the shop. Find it before it costs you a planting day.

In-season field call

We bring the trailer to you. It costs more outside shop hours, and you get the number before we roll.

Common questions

Why is my planter skipping?

Purdue lists misadjusted air pressure, leaks in the system, worn knockoff brushes and the wrong disc as common causes on air planters. A test stand tells you quickly if it's the meter. If it isn't, we keep looking.

Why is my corn coming up uneven?

Usually moisture variation at seed depth, or poor seed-to-soil contact from worn openers and misadjusted closing wheels. Research Purdue cites found delays of about 10 days cut yield 6 to 9%.

Do you come out to the field?

Yes. Field service runs 24/7 in season, out of a trailer with parts, tools and diagnostics. Most in-season problems get solved without the planter leaving.

What does a field call cost?

It depends on the job and the hour. It costs more outside shop hours, and you get the number before we roll.

How far do you travel?

Shelby, Bartholomew, Decatur, Rush, Johnson and Hancock counties are home ground. Outside that? Call anyway.
